Children’s Ministries

 

We offer children's programs during the Sunday School hour and the Main Service for children ages newborn through 6th grade.  All children are given a free breakfast at 9:00 a.m. to help facilitate the morning rush for families and to make sure they are ready, with full tummies, to learn about God.

 

Our Sunday School program groups newborn through preschoolers together in the nursery facility and the kindergarten through 6th graders together in the education building for breakfast, games and worship.  We then break them up into smaller groups for age-appropriate learning.

 

All of our children ages three and up join the church family for worship in the sanctuary during the ten o'clock service and are then dismissed at sermon time to return to their classes for their own Bible studies.  Classes include preschool, kindergarten - 1st grade, 2nd - 3rd grade, and 4th - 6th grade.  Nursery care is provided to newborn through two year olds throughout the service.

 

All of our children's workers have been screened, passed background checks and completed Sexual Abuse prevention training in order to work with children.  We have procedures in place to ensure that your child has a fun, safe environment in which to learn about God.

Nursery

Our nursery is open from 8:45 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

 

Current ages accepted are:

Infant - Preschool, 9:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m.

Infant - Toddler (age 2), 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

 

We have two paid nursery workers who are CPR certified in both infant and toddler techniques, and have passed criminal background checks. We also utilize a pager system that allows us to notify parents if they are needed.  You can feel confident that your little ones are in good hands.

 

Our facility has two separate play rooms (one for infants and crawlers and one for toddlers), a sleeping room and a mom's room, as well as a bathroom for potty-training children.  Additionally we have a preschool classroom inside the nursery that we utilize during the main service (see Preschool for more information).

Preschool

 

During the Sunday School hour, preschoolers are welcome to join our littlest members in the nursery for breakfast and playtime.  We have lots of puzzles, crafts, and manipulatives for them to explore while their parents are in Sunday School.

 

During the first portion of our worship service, our 3 and 4 year olds participate in worship with their parents and are then dismissed at sermon time to return to their classroom in the nursery.  The nursery facility is equipped with pagers for each family in case they are needed.  Preschoolers are given a small snack and also have a short time of worship together.

 

We are currently using the "Radiant Life" curriculum for our preschoolers.  The curriculum includes a life-application objective and activities to help the preschoolers discover that becoming like Jesus runs deeper than avoiding punishment or seeking reward - it's about choosing to do the right thing because they love Jesus and want to follow Him.

Kindergarten - 3rd Grade

 

During the Sunday School hour, our lower elementary kids meet with the preteens to have breakfast, worship together and play games.  Afterward, they break off to play games and have a pre-lesson time that will prepare them for what they will be learning during the sermon hour.

 

During the first portion of our worship service, the kids participate with their parents and then are dismissed at sermon time to return to their classroom.  For lesson time, they are broken down into two classrooms by age (K-1 and 2-3) where they can do age appropriate activities that will help them to grow in their understanding of God.

 

We are currently using the "Young Explorers" program as our curriculum.  Each unit is centered on an exciting theme that helps the Bible lessons come alive for the children.  There is a key verse for each unit and for each session and Scripture memorization will be emphasized.  Each session includes a Bible story, prayer, an object lesson, games, and activity sheets.

4th - 6th Grade

 

Preteens are a moving target.  Kids 9 to 11 are too old for children's Sunday school, but too young for youth.  They need a Sunday school curriculum that answers real-life preteen questions and tackles the issues preteens care about most!

 

During the Sunday School hour, our upper elementary "preteen" kids meet with the K-3 kids to have breakfast, worship together and play games.  Afterward, they have a pre-lesson time that will get them ready for what they will be learning during the sermon hour.

 

During the first portion of our worship service, the kids participate with their parents and then are dismissed at sermon time to return to their classroom.  For lesson time, they are broken down into two classrooms by age (K-1 and 2-3) where they can do age appropriate activities that will help them to grow in their understanding of God.

 

We are currently using the "Grapple Preteen" program, which includes attention-grabbing lessons, thought-provoking videos, fun games and deep, life-changing Bible lessons.
