Mike Moccardini, Lead Pastor
Living Faith Church has been my church home and family for almost 30 years. I was reluctantly dragged to this church while in high school, where, far away from the Lord, I was brought to a near tragic turning point. God graciously intervened, and in July of 1987, while at a summer camp with the LFC youth group, I rededicated my life to Him. I was then encouraged, mentored, and discipled over the next several years while volunteering in the youth group. Leadership soon turned into an internship with years of theological studies, but it was in 1992 that God called me into full time ministry, where I grabbed a hold of His hand and shepherd's staff and have not looked back nor let go.
I had the blessed privilege to serve as youth pastor at LFC for 18 years, seeing God do some amazing things in my life, and many students lives not only at LFC, but in our community. As LFC went through several years of transition and pastoral changes, I felt the Lord hold me here to serve in various roles and positions. It was in the summer of 2009, almost 22 years to the date of my re-dedication, that God graciously allowed me to serve as Lead pastor. To this day, my wife Yvonne, twin daughters (Shelby and Cienna), and I are so blessed to serve His people and His church, as we continually experience His grace, mercy, and goodness. There's not a day that goes by, that I'm not reminded of His love for me and others. It gives me the passion to pursue Him and lead others to share God's love and transforming power through His Holy Spirit. This church is my home and family and I invite you to join me worshiping our great God, who calls us to impact His Kingdom - "growing and serving together."
Al Gonzalez, Family Pastor
Al Gonzalez joined our ministry team in 2015 and he offers our team vast experience in both children’s and youth ministry, having worked with ministries from coast to coast in such places as Hawaii, Florida, Oklahoma, Texas, Illinois and here in California. Before coming on board at LFC Al served as the Generational Pastor for a local church in the Los Angeles area where he oversaw both their children’s and youth ministries, and before that as a Youth Pastor with various ministries. Pastor Al also has experience creating and developing curriculum, as well as planning, organizing and running various events and activities – including Vacation Bible School, youth conferences, and various community outreaches and events. His professional hobby is music, periodically doing shows here and there with his very own Latin Jazz band.
Al and his wife Sonia are always looking forward to making new friends both inside and outside of the church. Sonia loves being an encourager and she truly has a heart to serve and help whenever possible. Both Pastor Al and Sonia genuinely have a heart to minister to the needs of children, youth, and people in general. An extra added plus is, Al and Sonia are bilingual (fluent in Spanish). In addition to supporting Al's ministry work Sonia has also worked in the healthcare field for over 10 years and continues to do so here in Santa Barbara. Needless to say, they’re both excited to see God use them, and also excited to see how the Lord will continue to touch live through them here at Living Faith Church and in our community.
Bryan Ashmore, Worship Leader
Bryan grew up in the San Gabriel Valley and began leading worship in his youth group and High School. While attending Azusa Pacific University, he sang weekly in churches around Southern California with Living Faith Church’s own Kylleen Wisham! After college, He joined a band with his wife-to-be, Aly, and they wrote and recorded a few records and toured around California. It was during this time that Bryan felt called to lead worship in the local church and he moved to Ventura County, where he led worship for a few years before moving to the greater Indianapolis Area in Indiana.
Upon arrival in Indiana, Bryan and Aly discovered they were going to be blessed with a son, Venture, and much rejoicing occurred! After three wonderful years of leading worship and discovering the joys parenthood, they moved back to Ventura, where Aly joined a market research team-the Barna Group - acting as Managing Editor. When he is not chasing his son around the park, Bryan can be found obsessing over musical gear at www.sweetwater.com, reading non-fiction or rooting for the Indianapolis Colts.
